- Fender '51 Nocaster (Custom Shop
'Relic') equipped with Fender Nocaster bridge pickup (older
version w/ 10k DC
resistance and 3.5H inductance) and Harmonic Design Vintage+
neck pickup; D'Addario 0.011 to 0.052 strings.

output tubes biased to 35 mA
plate current at 440 V plate voltage
(B+).
- Fender Steel King amp; equipped with a
15" Eminence D130-F-style speaker. Yes, it's a transistor amp ... and
it's great!
- Steel Tzar amp;
rebuilt (for pedal steel) Fender Super Twin Reverb, equipped with a 15"
Eminence Commonwealth speaker
and three pairs of Sovtek 5881WXT
output tubes biased to 35 mA
plate current at 475 V plate voltage
(B+).
- TIM boost pedal (used on all recordings made after 2004).
- Dynacord CLS-222 rotating speaker simulator.

HOMEBREW
RECORDINGS
For all of these recording (except 'Teletubby' and 'No Way At
All') I have used
backing tracks that were generously supplied
by friends on the
Swedish
GMF discussion forum (Mats Nermark, Alain Senocq et al). I am very grateful for the work they
did!
Most recordings have been made with my
Zoom MRS-1266 digital portable studio. Unless noted, the takes were made using
the
internal amplifier emulations and
rhythm section provided by the Zoom unit. For
the genuine
tube amp recordings I have
used a
Shure SM57 microphone.

All of these recordings were made with a
blackface'd and power scale'd Fender '78 Vibrolux Reverb amp equipped
with a
pair of Weber C10Q speakers, a
pair of Svetlana 6L6GC output tubes and a 5AR4 tube rectifier. The Power
Scaling electronics
allowed the power tube anode voltage (B+) to be adjusted from 420 V down to 10
V.
